“Cassie came into our family’s life when we needed her the most. Our daughter was born deaf. We continued using sign language with our baby girl and made the choice to have her get cochlear implants. Just a week shy of her her 1st birthday, she was implanted bilaterally with cochlear implants. At that time, Cassie became our daughter’s speech therapist. We choose her because of her well known background of having worked with children who were implanted with cochlear implants. Cassie was very respectful towards our family and respected our family values and our bilingual language approach of our family for our daughter . She also communicated with our daughter using sign language and took the time to learn simple signs to better help communicate with our daughter which was really helpful in the initial stages of her hearing journey. She treated our daughter so well and was always so flexible. During our time with Cassie while our daughter was enrolled in the early intervention program until she aged out of the birth -3 yr program , we saw our daughter grow both in her expressive and receptive language skills. Cassie helped empower us as parents by showing us different modalities of teaching language to our child. Our child is thriving and all because we were able to have a provider like Cassie on our team. We are forever grateful.”
